As the 2025 school year winds down, it’s the ideal time to set your sights on next year’s challenges.One to get excited about? The Mitre10 @megawanaka Secondary Schools Challenge and Otago Secondary School Triathlon Champs happening Friday 20 February 2026 at Pembroke Park, Wānaka.

Summer is the perfect chance to reset, recharge, and put in the training for your best race yet. Whether you’re stepping up as an individual or teaming up with your classmates, there’s a category for every level — U14, U16, and U19.

Athletes from OSSSA-region schools will also be racing for the title of Otago Secondary Schools Champion, with overall winners crowned at prizegiving.🏅 And don’t forget — points are on the line for the Bill Godsall Trophy for top-performing school.Key details:

• Entries close: Monday 9th Feb, 5pm

• OSSSA schools: Enter via your School Sports Coordinator ($22 per athlete)

• All other secondary schools: Enter online at challenge-wanaka.com ($44 per athlete)

📍 Race Day – Friday 20 Feb 2026 - Registration from 9:30am 

• Racing from 1:00pm 

• Prizegiving at 3:00pm
