Dunedin Weekly Competition - (Including Intermediate Schools)

Organised by Otago Touch

  • One referee per team entered (Year 9-13) - must be available each week.
  • Teams supply own match balls.
  • All grades six aside. (Mixed Teams - no more than three male players or not less than one male player at any time).
  • A team may consist of up to 14 players. A maximum of six (6) are allowed on the field at any one time. A minimum of four players are required for the match to be played.

Playing Times

At the Kensington Oval on Tuesdays from 4.30pm. Last games normally finish at 6.30pm.

Competition Format

Depending on the number of entries - round robin with finals for competitive teams. Competitive and Non-Competitive grades. Teams in the competitive grades will receive 3 points for a win, 2 points for a draw and 1 point for a loss and a team that defaults without informing the opposition will receive no points.

Length of Season

Usually 6 weeks. Dates 2006: Tuesday 21 February - Tuesday 4 April.

Fixture Duration Times

15mins each way. 2 minute break at half-time.

Costs

The cost is $100 per team.

Draws

Draws emailed to schools from OTA.

Cancellations

Games are cancelled via email to each school by lunchtime on Tuesdays.

Contact Harold Driver at the DCC for grounds and Keith Shields for referees.

Otago SS Events

In Term One (2006 date: Sunday 19 Febraury) a tournament is held in Dunedin for Intermediate, Junior and Senior SS teams. For Senior teams only this is a qualifying tournament for the South Island SS's - to find the best 3 teams in Otago - Girls, Boys, Mixed.

South Island SS Event

This event is held in Term 1 (Friday 31st March to 1st April 2006) Invercargill.

National Event

Held in December each year. Thursday 7th - Sunday 10th  December 2006, North Harbour.
