Dunedin Weekly SS Competition

These competitions are organised by the Dunedin Netball Centre. Some Snr A teams play in the open or adult grades each Saturday. The remaining secondary school teams play in three grades that are divided into sections. Teams may enter the Senior, Intermediate (4th form) or Junior (3rd form) grades. Two weeks of grading games are held before dividing teams into sections of six or eight teams. At the end of round one teams are promoted or relegated automatically for winning or losing their section. DNC reserve the right to also re-grade during the competition if a team is in a section not suitable for them. At the conclusion of round two, semis and finals are held, with promotion/relegation taking place at the conclusion of finals.

Grading - Saturday 13 May and Saturday 20 May

Round 1 - 27 May to 22 July

Round 2 - 29 July to 26 August

Semi-finals - 2 September

Finals - 9 September

Secondary School Night League

Games start at 9.20am and are scheduled every 55min until the last games start at 2.50pm. Intermediate schools play on a Thursday starting at 3.35pm with the last round at 5.50pm.

Competition Format

The draw is completed by Dunedin Netball Centre and is emailed to schools and placed in ODT on Thursdays. The draw is also available on the OSSSA website.

Default Policy

No defaults are accepted in Premier Grade. A fine of $14.00 will be imposed on teams unless 48 hours prior notice of intention to default is given to DNC Operations Manager. As the DNC By-laws are currently being updated, there is the possibility that a further default clause will be added which will see an added points penalty for other grades. Failure to show for umpire duty will also result in a fine being imposed on teams.

Inter-Schools

If umpires are required for these games please contact, at least two weeks in advance - Doreen Tucker Ph 455 3610.
