Otago Event

Organised by Athletics Otago, OSSAA and OSSSA.
Held at the Caledonian, Dunedin on a Saturday in March.
Open entry, but some restrictions apply.
Cost - $3-$4 per athlete entry on the day (depending on sponsorship/grants).

Otago/Southland Event

Hosted by Otago and Southland - alternate years. Organised by Athletics Otago, OSSAA and OSSSA, when held in Otago.
Held on a Saturday in March at least one week before the South Islands.
It is a qualifying event based on performances at the Otago meeting (8 for field events, 8 for track events).

South Island Event

Event on a host rotation - 2006 Canterbury, 2007 Otago, 2008 Tasman, 2009 Aoraki, 2010 Southland, 2011 Canterbury, 2012 Otago, 2013 Tasman.

The South Island Meet is held on the last Saturday in March and is a qualifying event based on the performances of athletes at the Otago/Southland SS Championship (5 for field events, 5 for track events).

National Event

The National event is held in December, and is open entry. Schools are sent the first newsletter and asked to affiliate to the NZSS Athletics Association. If they do not affiliate they may not receive any further information from NZSSAA. Most information is available on www.nzssaa.org.nz. The event is held over two days in a weekend when school has finished.
